Lose Weight Fast

You read the headlines “LOSE WEIGHT FAST” with the HCG Diet! Does it really work? Can you lose 30lbs in a month on HCG? According to Dr. Oz and Pieter Cohen, M.D. with the Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard Medical School yes, you can lose weight on the HCG diet, but not due to HCG, but due to the reduction of calorie intake, the diet requires which can put your health and life at risk. The HCG diet includes the use of the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) the body makes during pregnancy and a low-calorie diet that limits you to 500 calories per day for 8 weeks while taking HCG by injection, oral drops, pellets or sprays. HCG products purchased in the store are not FDA approved. The shots; however, are legal, as long as a physician gives them to you. The FDA has not approved HCG injections for weight loss it’s only approved to treat fertility issues. According to Dr. Pieter Cohen over the counter drops have no active ingredients in them and companies that sell HCG drops are using the “power of suggestion” to sell the product.

The diet of 500 calories a day is why people lose weight

Just watch the participants on the TV show Survivor. They lost weight from lack of food i.e. lack of calories. Registered dietitians recommend of least 1,200 calories a day in order for your body to receive enough minerals and vitamins it needs to be healthy. 500 calories a day is not enough to meet your nutritional needs. Many people that followed the diet lost weight but at a cost i.e. hair loss, malabsorption, lack of protein and more.
