Brazilian Butt Lift
This minimally-invasive cosmetic surgery procedure transfers fat from one part of your body to round out your buttocks. That means you would have to have some extra fat in your abdomen, thighs or flank area to be a good candidate for this type of butt augmentation surgery.
Compared to traditional butt implants, a Brazilian butt lift is less risky and provides better results. The most common complaint about silicone butt implants is they tend to shift over time. With this type of butt augmentation surgery, you don’t have to worry about implants shifting around under the skin.
Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure
The first part of the Brazilian butt lift procedure involves harvesting fat from your stomach, back, or thighs using a modified liposuction technique called Tumescent Liposuction or Liposculpture. This part of the procedure can take the longest, depending on how much fat needs to be removed.
Once the fat is removed, it is processed and washed with a double antibiotic solution and then carefully injected into the buttock muscle and deep fat of the buttocks using special cannulas. This type of butt augmentation involves micro fat injections which provide excellent results. Your butt can go from flat to curvy in as little as 2 hours.
Your plastic surgeon may contour the area around the buttock using liposuction as a final touch.
How Long Does The Procedure Take?
The Brazilian Butt Lift procedure usually takes around 2-4 hours just depending on the amount of fat that needs to be removed/injected.
Brazilian Butt Lift is typically an outpatient procedure.
What Is The Cost?
The cost varies depending on your location and your surgeon’s experience level. The average cost of this type of surgery is approx. $5,000 to $10,000.
What Is The Recovery Time?
You won’t be able to sit down right after surgery so you should bring a friend with you to surgery. Also, you should avoid sitting down for extended periods of time for about 3 weeks, so you don’t damage the fat. You should also plan on sleeping on your stomach or side. If you need to sit down you should sit on a cushion or pillow until you are all healed up.
You will likely need to wear a special post-surgical garment to control swelling. Temporary drains may be used in order to drain out excess blood and fluids.
Full recovery may take up to 6 weeks. Recovery varies from person to person depending on how well you follow your surgeon’s post-operative instructions.
